Hi there!
I’ve been playing with the idea of starting a blog for quite a while- I read other bloggers’ tips on starting a blog, planned what my content would be geared towards, and had a few ideas for names that I loved. The only thing I was really missing from the equation was the time to go ahead and tell myself to just sit down and start writing. It feels like Christmas was just yesterday but somehow it’s already half way through the year, bringing with it my 26th birthday. This is a big one. I don’t know what it is specifically but between the last day of 25 and the first day of 26, I feel like I’ve jumped off the cliff of my childhood and landed flat in adulthood. And with that, I decided now was as good of a time as any so here it goes: Welcome to my little corner on fashion and lifestyle, I hope you like it!
Since I was already feeling a little too grown up, I really wanted to celebrate my birthday without any responsibility in sight. For me, that consists of all things brunch and definitely a mimosa or two. Brunch is one of my favorite ways to kick off the morning on my days off- not only is there amazing food, but I also love planning brunching outfits! There is just something so fun and feminine to me about a good brunch ootd.
We decided to go to this new spot called Great Maple (it was amazing- I definitely recommend it if you ever come across one) that just opened at the local mall so we could do a little shopping afterwards if we weren’t too full to walk around, that is. I recently picked up this lovely maxi dress and decided to layer it with a neutral cardigan just in case the fog decided to roll in- which it did, unfortunately. Maxi dresses are a staple in my wardrobe because they can so easily be dressed up or down. Pair them with a denim jacket for cool and comfortable or with a black blazer for instant chic. This dress is super versatile and the material is super soft and comfortable and I love the drawstring around the midsection that allows you to really wear it how you want to. Dresses are also my outfit of choice when going out to eat because who wants a waistline when there’s French toast involved? Not this gal. For accessories, I went simple with a small gold bar necklace so as not to draw away from the pattern and detailing on the dress. I chose my go-to white kicks to make sure I was comfortable walking around after brunch and because there’s just something so Sandy Olson about pairing a skirt with simple white sneakers that feels flirty and soft.
